San Ré is Amsterdam-based electronic music producer Ben Evolo. Electronic Sound magazine describes his music as “dub-slanted electronica, distinctly cinematic, and wide-ranging.” He draws upon a combination of analog hardware and synthesis to cultivate his sound.

In addition to his own original music, San Ré’s works include original film scores for groundbreaking and award-winning independent films.

Residing in Amsterdam, San Ré is from the US, with roots in NYC and Boston.

Qualia Tableau

Time is the measurement of change, and where there is no change there is no time, it ceases to exist. Qualia Tableau, the full-length LP from San Ré, released July 7, 2023 as a limited edition double-disc vinyl LP, limited edition cassette tape, and in digital and streaming formats.

His Name Is My Name

Winner of the Special Jury Award for Creative Technology at the 2022 International Documentary Film Festival Amsterdam, His Name Is My Name is an Instagram-based animated documentary series from JONGSMA + O’NEILL that explores how the crimes of WWII-era perpetrators still reverberate through today’s society, shaking the foundations of our homes and our families. Part detective thriller and part personal visual essay, His Name Is My Name tracks Eline Jongsma’s investigation into her family’s history, and shines a light into a still-dark corner of Europe’s past.

Acquiesce

Richly textured and angsty exploration of “relinquishing control in an absurd cosmos where chaos reigns supreme,” Acquiesce leads off with Also Surreal, a raw and aggressive industrial EBM / techno track, followed by Lunar FOB, which imagines a near future in which Earth’s moon is being colonized by various nations, all competing for control of the surface, strategic locations and resources. The third track, Draw Me a Cat, is a lament for a lost friend, for lost childhood friendships and for their fading memories, and is followed by Flutter, a richly textured, contemplative track with undulating synth bass beneath syncopated beats and percussion. Acquiesce is concluded by Turtle Hill, a sentimental and nostalgic homage to a particular space and time of transformational physical and spiritual healing, and rebirth.

Sequin Select

This debut single from San Ré was heavily inspired by and composed during the 2020 US Presidential elections and the tense days that followed. Sequin Select is drenched in the tension of the moment, and foregoes release entirely.
